Paddy Power has a simple interface, themed in green and white. Most commonly used features are all accessible above the fold.

Interestingly, the app keeps you logged in until your session expires (a few days), so there's no FaceID (iOS) or Auto Sign-In (Android) every time you open your app. This can be an issue if you make your phone accessible to underage kids, as they can open the app to place bets.

Upon log in, you are greeted with the homepage where you can access many items (football, horse racing, promotions banner, betslip, My Bets, Power Prices) in one single tap.

Deposit and Withdrawal

The deposit page is found in your account page. Firstly, click on the person icon in the top right corner to navigate to your account page. Both deposit and withdraw buttons are equally visible right at the top, and heavily contrasted with other elements in the page.

I personally like this design choice a lot, as it doesn't obfuscate or deprioritise the withdrawal button like some other betting apps that I've seen. Bettors are gonna withdraw when they want to withdraw, and bookmakers should be facilitating that to the best of their abilities.

Responsiveness

The app is responsive, and the time between me pressing my app icon to the display of homepage took between 0.9s to 1.8s. This is insanely fast for a betting app. Do note that there is no further authentication (e.g., FaceID or Auto Sign-In) if you're already logged in.

Navigating between screens is near instantaneous as well, though from my own testing, I experienced variance where a few pages loaded much longer than usual. Anyhow, I timed an average of 0.6s between navigations.

Bugs

Personally I have also experienced some UI bugs in the app, where certain pages such as the Promotions and account pages are closed immediately after opening them. This is quite frustrating, as the issue stuck even after I force-closed and reopened the app.

I have contacted their support team regarding the issue, but it remains if the bug eventually gets fixed.

Customisation

There are no major customisation options (e.g., dark mode), and the app is light mode by default with a green and white theme.

Like most other betting apps, you can favourite your most commonly accessed sports. Start by tapping Add Favorite in the middle bar. You will be brought to a page where you can see all the available sports. Simply tap on the radio box beside each sport to favorite.

Similar to LiveScore Bet and Virgin Bet apps, you can quickly access your favorites straight from your homepage after favoriting.

Placing a bet

To place a bet, tap a selection. This opens your Betslip and adds the selection. There is no default stake, and tapping the bet input brings up the app's native number pad where you can also quickly add increments of 5, 10 and 15.

Your usual single bet

Not having a default stake can hurt live bettors, where speed is crucial. Unfortunately, I couldn't find any option to configure a default stake as well.

After selecting a match, you'll first have to scroll down a bit to find the Categories list. You can then tap the Bet Builder icon to enter Bet Builder mode. Pick your selections, which adds them to your Betslip. The Bet Builder (along with the number of selections, or "legs"), will be clearly shown in the Betslip - no ambiguity.
